It’s not often that one is fortunate enough to hobnob on the manicured grounds of an historical mansion — a scene practically lifted from the pages of The Great Gatsby. The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce afforded the business and civic community such an opportunity with just the right dose of pomp and, thankfully, not much circumstance.
Every third Wednesday of the month, the Chamber hosts their Sunset Mixer at rotating, participating locations. The recent event at The Muckenthaler Cultural Center — held there annually and always in the month of May — is the most exquisite of all mingling functions. Catered graciously by award-winning Colette’s Catering Extraordinaire (the Muck’s in-house, exclusive cuisine service), the evening took on the theme of Cinco de Mayo with scrumptious street tacos; tray-passed horchata rum and margarita cocktails; and luscious berry smoothies, horchata panna cotta and Mexican cookies displayed meticulously on dessert risers.
A jaunty and infectious set was performed by local ensemble The Pleasure Tones, featuring Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Normie Rodriguez as lead vocalist. Raffle prizes, which included gift baskets, wine and event tickets, were donated by businesses around town.
The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce hosts many networking events every month such as Happy Hour Networking, Networking Lunches, Sunset Mixer and AM Connect to educate, provide leads and foster camaraderie amongst their members. They are dedicated to the economic vitality and prosperity of the entities they represent as well as the community as a whole. Not only are they the premier voice of business in Fullerton, but they also hold that distinction for all of North Orange County.
