Wine pairing dinners are not always held at high-brow restaurants or resorts. Sometimes they pop-up where you least expect them — this particular one within the gymnasium/parish center of St. Juliana’s Church. Organized by bon vivant and community member Matthew DeArmey, his Chateau Falconieri organization proudly presents its 4th Annual “The Wines of Summer” event taking place on Saturday, May 31st from 6-9 pm. This 7-course tasting menu with wine pairings highlights the best quality/price wines of the year.

This year, check-in starts at 6:00 pm with a lavish cheese, fruit and charcuterie station. Taking their seats at a table with friends, guests will enjoy delicious fresh baked bread from Dean Kim’s OC Baking Co. and amazing olive oils and balsamic vinegars from Taste It! in Fullerton.

Collaborating with Wild Thyme Company executive chef Dawn Parks and Envoyer Fine Wine importer Greg Koslosky, the evening promises to be filled with oohs and ahhs as guests are presented with delectable bites accompanied by bacchanalian sips.

The oenophile that he is, DeArmey will speak in between courses to describe the nuances and descriptions of the select wines paired with each course. Various wines will also be generously raffled.

At the end of the evening, wines will be available for purchase with special discounts at the event for future delivery. 10% of the proceeds from all wine purchases are charitably gifted to the St. Juliana Falconieri School Parents Club.

The Tasting Menu and Wine Pairings will be published as the date of the event draws near.
