The Kelly Thomas Memorial Concert and Canned Food Drive is a free (with canned goods or clothing donation) outdoor concert taking place to commemorate Kelly Thomas. The goal of the organizers is to raise awareness of the very immediate issues and needs surrounding the homeless population in Orange County.

The concert takes place at the Fullerton Downtown Plaza from 3-8pm this Saturday, September 17 with music by Sederra, Julian Porte, New Skool Kings, John Paget, 80 Proof, Mr Mirainga, and Robert Guta of the LA Philharmonic.

About Kelly Thomas

Kelly Thomas was a 37-year-old, homeless man suffering from schizophrenia and living on the streets of Fullerton, California. On July 10, 2011 Kelly was pronounced dead at the UC Irvine Medical Center after having suffered severe injuries during an altercation with six Fullerton police officers on the night of July 5, 2011.
