Remember your mom staring at Mervyn’s commercials when you were just a wee, little babe? Picture the unrestrainable mob of middle-aged women in sweat pants, faces pressed up against the glass doors chanting open, open, open ! On September 13, this was the mantra of stilettoed fashionistas wringing their purse straps at the break of dawn. This, in anticipation of swooping up all that they could of the Missoni collection that officially launched at Target stores nationwide and online — incidentally, resulting in the crash of the Target website. Everything fabulously zigzag is available at surprisingly moderate prices ($30 for pillows, $13 for towels, dishes from $3-$20) and will be offered only until October 22, or until supplies last.

Here is a preview from the Missoni for Target Pop-Up Shop at Fashion’s Night Out in New York via

Ahead of the Missoni for Target’s official national launch on September 13, the pop-up shop debuted to the public on Fashion’s Night Out and was slated to stay open through Saturday, but on Thursday the entire inventory was depleted within an hour, forcing it to close.

A vacant venue, across from Bryant Park, was transformed into a Missoni for Target pop-up shop emblazoned with bull’s-eye logos and Missoni’s signature zigzag pattern. With 400 items, the Missoni for Target line is the retailer’s largest designer collaboration to date. Event producer David Stark was brought in to design the space and showcased it elegantly in a way that didn’t result in symptoms of macular degeneration.
