A comprehensive exhibition of the history of stained glass produced by the Judson Studios from the nineteenth century to the twenty-first is currently on view at The Muckenthaler  Cultural Center until March 31, 2013. For over 100 years the Judson Studios has been designing and manufacturing stained glass windows in Los Angeles.  The studio’s work includes leaded glass, faceted glass, etched glass and mosaics.

In 1897, The Judson Studios was established in Los Angeles by three Judson brothers and their father, William Lees Judson, a noted California artist. The Studio’s emphasis from the beginning has been on a combination of tradition and innovation. They are proud of their heritage and integrate the traditions of an ancient and honorable craft with the cutting edge of contemporary design. Their design and fabrication processes take into consideration the architectural setting, the clients input, and timeless quality.

Judson Studios is still family run, is in its fifth generation, and is currently owned by David Judson. Today the current generation brings a 21st century aesthetic and technological sensibility to the facility and the craft, with over 110 years of tradition and experience.

Gallery hours are Wednesday thru Sunday from 12-4pm and with additional hours of 5-9pm on Thursdays. Please call for closed dates. All events are rain or shine, with rain hours of 12-4pm. For membership to The Muck click here.
