Quintetto is a brilliant musical project that translates the movements of five aquarium fish into music. The basic concept is being able to experience the “invisible concerts” of normal day life. The effect is achieved by capturing the motion of the fish on camera and translating those motions via software into commands that control five channels of sound. There are 5 different musical instruments that create a fascinating soundscape. The installation was put together in 2009 by Quiet Ensemble, an Italian art collective.

Every movement we see in nature can be perceived as a visual concert, like the storm of birds moving together creating astonishing patterns, or snow falling from the sky touching the ground.
